Matcha’s Match

It's Not White

It's Not White

This is powdered white tea and, as you can see, it’s not exactly white. Matcha has met its nutritious match against worthy granite-ground white tea: it is even higher in antioxidants and has a slightly higher level of caffeine. White tea is not cured or oxidized as black tea is and has a lovely tea flavour. I mix ground white tea exactly as I do matcha – two small scoops in hot water, frothed with a bamboo whisk. White tea is just right for days when you’d prefer not to go green.

I drink a lot of tea – matcha, white, herbal, black and oolong. Some of my favourites, including white tea and matcha, are from Muzi.
